Annual Flowers for Cutting
Annuals make good cutting flowers since they flower continuously all season. However, cutting is as much about the stem as it is about the flower. Unfortunately, many annuals have stems that are too short.
With that said, the list still runs into the hundreds. The list below is just a short list of annuals that make good cut flowers. When choosing your varieties, beware of 'dwarf' plants, plants that are known for being 'bushy' or 'covered with flowers.' This translates to 'short stems.'

Daisy Shapes - Single Aster, Calendula, Chrysanthemum, Coreopsis, Cosmos, Gaillardia, Rudbeckia, Strawflower, Sundflower, Single Zinnia.
Spikes - Bells of Ireland, Annual Foxglove, larkspur, Lupine, Pink Poker, Salvia, Snapdragon, Wheat Celosia, Stock.
Other Flowers - California Poppy, Chines Langern, Corn ****le, iceland Poppy, Prairie Gentian, Love-lies-bleeding, Nasturtium, Nicotiana, Salpiglossis, Statice, Sweet Pea.
